About software
Microsoft Office XP (also known in the beta phase as Office 10 and also known under the name Office 2002) is a Microsoft Office family suite distributed by Microsoft on the Microsoft Windows platform. This suite is the successor to Microsoft Office 2000, and also the predecessor to Office 2003. It can also be identified with the code name “Office 10” or the name of its code name. It was first released in the USA on March 5, 2001. In Europe, it appeared on markets on August 4, 2002. The ‘Mainstream’ support phase for Office XP ended on 11 July 2006, the day on which Windows 98 and Me were no longer supported. Extended support ended in July 2011. Office XP tools were given the title “2002”, even though the suffix was “XP”. Word 2002, for example, was not named Word XP.
The final clippy
Microsoft Office XP was a major component of its advertising campaign. Microsoft knew Clippy, and other Office Assistants, were unpopular and unused by users. These features were not eliminated completely until the 2007 edition.
